About me

Passionate about accelerating business growth, I offer fresh perspectives and champion customer focus, drawing on a wealth of experience spanning a lifetime from the shop floor to the board room. I’ve successfully guided 50+ businesses across diverse e.g. FMCG, financial services, TNT, construction, engineering, education, health – private, listed and public; b2b and b2c; from start-ups and SMEs to global organisations and Private Equity portfolio firms. I have held global leadership roles, working in the UK and internationally with notable organisations e.g. Aviva, HSBC, Direct Line, BBC, BT, NHS, Serco, Willmott Dixon, NHS, PWC, Cabinet Office; At Aviva, I created a new sales process that increased deal wins by 40% while reducing costs by 20%. This process became a blueprint for a successful global partnership approach.    

 

With Serco working in a JV with The Cabinet Office, my approach enabled targeted 100% profitable growth in 5 years, winning bids for major global markets and achieving 100% customer satisfaction. More recently as Chief Revenue Officer with the UK’s No1 EV charging firm, my interventions reversed revenue decline and secured a 7-point gross margin improvement while executing major strategic pivots for transformational change in the face of market slowdown. For a global TMT company serving b2b/b2c enabled a step change in growth facilitating the design and enablement of a new transformative strategy to deliver CAGR EBITDA +140% over 5 years, through a  new operating model and revitalising the business as a new, customer-centric brand; removed operational inefficiency; and enhanced sales and marketing effectiveness by targeting selective global corporates.

Fun facts
  • I became a global magicians assistant as I lay within a coffin like box being inserted with real, lethal swords. I live to tell the tale - and my lips are forever sealed on the magic!  
  • I’m a keen gardener having created 5 gardens from scratch and cultivated 2 allotments which have nourished my family’s life, especially my 6ft + twin sons – sadly there’s been no magic to increase my 5ft diminutive height!
