About me

With over 14 years of fractional CMO experience in over 50 businesses supporting their growth and improving their marketing ROI; plus, non-executive mentoring and teaching roles, 3 startups and a long international corporate career:  

I specialise in B2B manufacturing, distribution, technology and healthcare businesses. 

Marketing is all about people and I care deeply about the growth and effectiveness of the marketing teams I train and support as well as building their impact on the results of the business, firmly believing that “if you cannot measure the improvement, it probably doesn’t exist." CPA, CLV and overall ROMI are critically important. 

Effective marketing strategies are driven by the goals of the business, so I focus strongly on the strategic alignment of marketing activities and business goals, without this alignment marketing becomes a cost rather than an investment.  

Management teams I work with want to drive results, generally, if there is no change there will be no change and I apply this philosophy to drive focused, pragmatic, and practical marketing solutions which incorporate current social, web, and digital customer engagement techniques.  

Flexible, energetic, friendly, and culturally adept, I balance strategic and operational marketing and am always ready to roll up my sleeves and get involved. In 2014, I was honoured as The Marketing Centre's Marketing Director of the Year.

  • Scrap Metal Sculptor: In my spare time, I enjoy creating intricate scrap metal sculptures, a hobby that combines precision, creativity and getting dirty! 
  • Orkney Enthusiast: I have a deep appreciation for the Scottish Islands, particularly the Orkneys and Shetland, often travelling there to enjoy the music, explore the archaeology, hike and appreciate the wildlife.
